Research
The book articles above has been referenced and dated and the key points have been highlighted. The 1st article discusses advertising and how it has huge powers over consumers and how an advert can convince viewers to buy the goods their seeing on TV. It also shows that bigger well known brands have the power and can then save money on adverts due to the fact that they are already well known.
Research
Book Sources
These 2 book articles have all been referenced and dated on the page and the key points have been highlighted. I chose these 2 book articles as they are relevant to idents and advertising as they are discussing brand familiarity and how a more familiar brand with experience have greater attention on their ads. It also shows the implications that brand familiarity can present to a brand.
Magazine Sources
These 3 magazine articles have all been referenced and dated on the page and the key points have been highlighted. I chose these 3 articles because they are all discussing different aspects to adverts. One of them talks about how charity adverts make the viewer feel guilty and awkward whilst watching these adverts. It explains how charity adverts are constructed to make this happen. The other 2 articles are totally opposite as one is about gaining viewers and the other is about banning ads. The banning ads discusses what they do when viewers complain about an ad and what companies are in control when dealing with these. The winning friends article shows what it does to create an influential advert.

Casting Decisions
I decided that I would be using Alex Richards to be my main actor as I felt he was the best actor for the job. I believed he was the best for the job as he had previous experience of being in music videos and had the characteristics you expect when you talk about a singer. For example, the correct build, good looks, the rockstar hair etc. He can perform to professional standards that I expect and can present himself well. He follows all instructions about how to conduct himself within this role.
I felt that he suited the style of clothing that the actor/singer would be wearing which is a snap back cap, a voi polo shirt, grey chinos and nike high tops. He would have pulled this look off very well which is why he was the perfect candidate in which to choose this actor.
On top of this, he can play a rockstar very well as he can pull off the attitude and the craziness of how a performer will act in front of the cameras. I am casting Alex as he appeals to a larger audience as he looks like Ed Sheeran so he will come across as a folk singer crossing over to the rap music genre in order to appeal to their audience. This means he'll get more viewers as he is appealing to more people.

Treatment
Treatment Unit 1
I need everything in the treatment so that my client can see that I have included everything that is required and that I have fully planned for the music video.
The locations and the cast and crew are very important factors to put down as it shows that I have put detail into where I want to film and who I want to film. I also had to take into consideration how much it would cost in order to hire the actors I wish to use as well as days I had need to book in order to use the location I desired. Talking of budget, I had to note down the cost of everything I wish to use/hire. The budget is very important as it shows the client how much the whole video will cost in order to film, hire etc. It then allows the client to see if my advert is viable in term of costs.
It is important to write down the structure I will follow when creating this music video. It shows the client that I have put a lot of effort into planning what I want the video to look like and what guidelines I wish to follow. It also allows the client to picture what the the video will look like themselves. Including what key shots I want to use is very important for a similar reason in which I stated the structure of the video. It allows the client to know what shots will be included within the video and if they match the expectations they have set.
I have stated the plan of the video (where, what etc.) so that the client gets a good understanding of what I wish to film and what I will be filming. It also allows them to see the idea I have put together for the advert so they can see if they approve/liked the idea and if it is living up to the expectations they set for the advert.

Missing Part of Research Plan + Evaluating Sources
Resources:
Where/Who? - I will use Glenthorne High Schools camera and tripod and will use them in the specific locations.
How? - I will take out the camera and tripod by using my library card and borrowing the equipment for that day giving me permission to take them out of school.
When? - I will take these out when the academy are training on the 1st of June 2012.
Evaluating Sources:
I know that my sources are reliable as I have taken internet sources from schools and professional football clubs. I know I can trust them as a school is a very reliable source and I can trust a professional football club as they will publish positive stories about themselves and they wouldn't put false information on their website cos if they were to be found it, it would give them a bad reputation which could have concequensive effects.
Decisions, Revisions, Results
Produce Planning Documents
I had to produce the following documents which were: storyboard, shooting schedule, script, list of props/costume and make up, location visit details, casting decisions and risk assessment. Whilst I was creating all of these documents I had not problems in creating them and completed them.
Filming my Rushes
Whilst I was filming my rushes I had to collect a tripod and a camera as well as my memory card so that I was able to film. Once I had the equipment I needed I went to the location I had to film at and filmed the shots I required. No problems occured whilst I was filming.
Upload Work
I then uploaded my work from the camera to iMovie on the mack and then saved it in my documents. Once I had saved it in my documents I then imported the files into final cut where I could then begin to edit. I didn't have any problems arise when I was importing to iMovie or importing to final cut.
Creating a Rushes Log, Edit Decision List and Completing a Rough Edit
I then had to create an edit decision list as well as creating a rushes log which enabled me to see where I needed each clip in the advert. It enabled me to follow a specific plan and guideline to my advert. When creating my rough draft I had to select the music that I wanted for the advert from www.freeplaymusic.com. Here I chose a catchy upbeat soundtrack. I also added in effects to make the ad more interesting.
Get Feedback From Client + Final Edit
After I had completed my first draft I got feedback from my client in which they evaluated my advert. After listening to the feedback I received, I then added in text to my advert as well as a voice over which got across more key information to the viewer.
Export my Work
I then had to export my work onto blogger and YouTube. I had to import it into my files from final cut and then had to upload it onto YouTube. Once it had successfully uploaded onto YouTube I then took the embed code and placed in on my blogger. No problems occured during this.

3 Planning Ideas + Music and Logo decision
Here we drew up a range of different styles and colours that we could have the logo.
We felt that a more upbeat sound track would go best with the advert as we felt that it would draw people in due to the catchy nature of the song. We got our music from www.freeplaymusic.com as it allowed us to download music for free that wasn't copy righted.
Using my Planning Documents
These images here are me using my planning documents, Paper Edit and Rushes Log, to help me decide which shots i'll be needing to include in my music video. The last image is my about to import the clips in which I wish to use after I have read through my planning documents.
Using Planning Documents
Paper Edit, Rushes Log and Storyboard
I used the paper edit and the storyboard I had created whilst I was editing as it gave me a guideline in which I could follow when creating my music video. I had to use the paper edit and the rushes log together as the paper edit had a list of shot names and when they are going to be used and the rushes log contained all of the shot names and numbers so i knew what shot was what when looking at my paper edit. After reading through my paper edit I selected the clips that were the full length of time (3 minutes) and then cut them up so I was left with the parts of the clips that I wanted and that matched the paper edit. I then looked over my storyboard to check that the shots I was seeing on screen were the shots I had planned and was seeing on my storyboard. Due to me following my storyboard whilst I was filming I was seeing the same shots. I still had to keep looking over my storyboard throughout the time I was editing to ensure that I was still following my plan.
