Revisions and Decisions

After i had completed all my planning documents for my music, George, Grace and myself decided that we would work together in making our music video. We decided to use George's idea that had a story line of the artist working his way up and making it big, and you see him packing and leaving to go so that he can persue his career further. We came to the conclusion that we would all use the same footage but make our own edits of the video.

Rushes
We filmed in several locations which included round George's house so we could film the shots of him packing to go with the storyline, round Grace's house to get the shots on the roof of the artist singing, in a garage as it allowed us to get the effect that the artist is very popular, at gatwick airport as its showing that the artist has made it and so we could get a good shot of a plane leaving (with the artist supposedly on board and well known and down a road which had fence panels which we used as a background and a gate which we sat the artist on and sang from a low angle shot to give the effect that they have high status. Whilst filming no issues arose so we was able to get all the footage that we required within the time that we needed so we could begin to edit it as soon as possible. Whilst we were filming the footage i had to direct people in telling them what they had to do. I had to follow all the planning documents which inlucded the shooting schedule and the storyboard. I had to tell the artist where they were required and what they had to do for specific shots as well as instructing someone to set up the camera in the positions and angles that it was needed. I also had to set up the camera on the tripod myslef as well as film. We also used the figrig to film shots and to get a variety of shots and angles. I was incharge of operating the figrig and i had to ensure that i was moving slowly when i moved and to make sure i was as still as possible so that the camera isnt shakey in the shots.

Upload
Uploading and editing the footage has gone really well and no issues that i cant deal with havent arose. I have synced the clips in almost perfectly with the music track and i have added a number of effects and text to make the video look more professional and fun to watch. Ive included fast cutting so that it goes well with the beat of the music and looks better for the audience to watch.

Rough Edit
During my rough edit i encountered a couple of problems as i didnt sync the clips up with the music so some shots were out of time. I had to then sync them all up so they were in time and therefore making the video look a much better quality and much more professional. I didnt have access to all of the shots that i needed to make my music video so we had to film a couple of extra shots and then upload them to include them in the video. The cutting wasn't fast enough between shots and some shots went on for too long. There were no effects included and the ending isn't very good at the moment.

Feedback
When asking about my rough edit of my music video i asked people what i had done well and where i need to improve. The answers i got were:
WWW: good start; good story line; good variety of shot angles.
EBI: needs quicker cutting; more effects added; shorter clips; more range of clips.
Taking these into consideration my final edit will have quick cuts and cutting to the beat to make it more interesting, a variety of effects added to a number of shots so that it looks better and more professional and more clips used so that there is a variety to look at and so its more visually interesting and more professional.

Effects
For my final edit ive added in text at the start of the video which shows the artist, song and company name, ive added in an earthquake effect that goes with the beat and makes the video look more inviting and interesting at the part in which it is used.

Exporting
When exporting my rough edit and my final edit i found that it took a long time to export which meant that when i was uploading the rough edit i was unable to improve it. Apart from that it was quickly upload onto YouTube as well as quickly being uploaded onto my blog without any problems.
